Executive Director Cynthia Tai Receives Champion for Social Justice Award from the Hawaii State Bar

PEJ is proud to announce that Executive Director, Cynthia Tai, has been chosen to receive the 2020 Champion for Social Justice Award from the Hawai’i State Bar Association! Cynthia was nominated by the HSBA Awards Committee, and others for her extraordinary efforts to seek and preserve justice through her work as a local judge, a prosecutor for the U.S. and at the International Criminal Court (ICC), and with PEJ.

The Champion for Social Justice Award was first inaugurated in 2010. Since 2010, the award has been given each year to an individual for their courageous legal work in the face of public controversy, that helps promote the interests of justice and preserves the integrity of the judiciary.

Cynthia’s unwavering dedication to her work throughout the years and her incredible efforts have provided inspiration to those around her. She continues to demonstrate the great things attorneys and judges do for the people of Hawai’i and is deeply honored and grateful to have received this award.
