According to the U.N. refugee agency in June 2019, the number of people fleeing violence is the highest recorded since World War II. Through PEJ’s unique three-step model, we seek to ensure that these individuals and others targeted or exploited by more powerful entities have access to justice - whether now or in the future. We train local lawyers and investigators and support them through the justice process so that they can advocate on behalf of their own people.
